I'm 26-year-old female. I had unprotected sex with my bf 1 month ago. He got uti 1 week after that. But I had no symptoms before or after that. Still, I took azithromycin 1g and cefixime 400 mg on my doctor friends advice. But now my bf again got uti symptoms and I'm feeling a burning sensation around my vagina after I urinate although we are using protection every time now. Do I need to take the antibiotics course again?

This time it's better that both of you go for urine r/m & culture senstivity testing done & start antibiotics based upon reports only else there are high chances of getting resistance to microrganisms & you might land up hospitalsation & requiring iv antibiotics for treatment. Till then 1. Plenty of oral fluids (lemonade/ cranberry juice) 2.tab urispas 1 tab three times a day for 2 days for symptomatic relief 3.syp alkasol 10 ml dissolved in one glass of water three times a day. 4. Avoid contact till cured & for atleast a week thereafter.
