I am a 26 years old female and I generally use sanitary pads during my periods. My skin is sensitive and I get rashes. So I have to change it after every 2 or 3 hours and it becomes hard to manage as I am working. I have heard about menstrual cups. I have not used it and there are various stories regarding it. Doctor, please help me in knowing. should I use a menstrual cup?

A menstrual cup is a small bell-shaped cup used by women during their menstrual cycle to collect the menstrual blood during the menstrual periods. It is usually made of medical-grade silicone and is worn inside the vagina. Menstrual cups are generally considered as a safe period care option and it keeps a woman free from problems such as rashes or burning sensation due to the use of sanitary pads for a longer time. Menstrual cup is not only easy to use but it is also re-usable unlike the sanitary pads. A woman removes the cup every 6 to 12 hours, depending upon her blood flow, empties the blood into the toilet and washes the cup to reinsert it.
