Can I take take lincomycin cap. Along with amoxicillin tab. I have ear infection so im taking lincomycin cap. Now I hv ulcers on tongue and lips. So doc. Prescribe me amoxylin tab. Can I take both at a time?

There are two groups of antibiotics. Bactereostatic. Means they stop the germ to multiply and hence infection can not grow. The other group is called bactericidal. This means it kills the germ. Lincomycin belongs to the first and amoxycillin to the second. Customarily we prefer not to combine drugs from these the groups {except while treating duodenal ulcer by h. Pylori where amoxycillin and clarithromycin (bactereostatic) are used.}. I would suggest you to notify your doctor that you are already taking a course of lincomycin which perhaps you forgot to inform him.
