Hi I am 65 and diabetes should include chicken and alcohol in my diet at weekends.

No problem with that if you can control your diabetes properly and keep your drinks limited to a couple.

Chicken is lean protein so it is good for the body and does no harm. So you can include it any time you want. Alcohol is empty calories. And it is either made of malt or grains. They can give a spike to your blood sugar. Avoiding it completely is the best solution, but if you really feel like drinking then 1 peg with no added sugary drinks to it can be consumed. Do not snack fried food with it. Do mainly salads n nuts with it.
