I am 34 years old and I am 9 weeks pregnant. My doctor asked me to go for some urine culture test and there a bacteria was diagnosed which is named as e coli. The number of colonies grown is 100000, and doctor said she don't prefer giving any injection for it. So now she has asked me to take faronem 200 which is faropenem sodium tablet and have asked me to take it for 5 days -2 times a day I just wanted to know that whether this medicine impact anything in regards to my pregnancy? Please suggest and let me know if this won't cause any problems to my pregnancy.

I do not see why faropenem should be given. There must be other drugs which are mentioned in culture report. Personally I will like to avoid this medicine especially in first trimester.
