Good morning. I am 49 years. I have been diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis and was admitted to hospital for the past 3 days. Now that I am discharged, I have been advised to follow a strict diet regime by avoiding milk, tea, coffee and other caffeinated drinks. Also, fried foods and spicy items are a strict no. I am comfortable now and slowly recovering, please suggest me health nutritional alternatives to adopt for regaining my strength. Also, should I avoid all those above items permanently.

It will be better if you avoid completely. But even if you loose your discipline you should eat a very minimal amount, that too once or twice a month. For strength you can do some physical exercise and eat nutrient rich foods like chicken and eggs or paneer, tofu etc if you are veg. You should also take few pieces of dry fruits daily for energy.
