Hello, I had septoplasty and adenoidectomy (no turbinoplasty) 4 months back, but still I am facing difficulty breathing although its normal sometimes, whenever I swallow it feels mucus going inside throat, this mucus is causing difficulty in breathing, on physical consultation with a local ent, on examination he says my recovery is well, and nasal passage is clear, he then said that my nasal passage is completely clear, he then gave me fluticasone ft spray fir 1 month. Please suggest me what should be done I feel this mucus id causing a problem for me as I feel mucus running down throat on swallowing. Please suggest what should be done, should I use steam inhalation and ehat other measures should be taken, please guide me through this tough times.

1st this may be post nasal drip syndrome or also called upper airway cough syndrome just a differential 2nd get a bronchoscopy to look for any other lesions in trachea, or above vocal cords to act on it if required 3rd if all negative do pft and for all 1 2 3 show a chest physician only.

Despite surgery you can have mucus production from the sinuses or lung per se, it could be a symptom of allergy or asthma. U need to step up the nasal spray with a check up from a chest specialist along with a few investigations like xray of sinuses and chest, allergy tests, pulmonary function test. U will require oral anti allergics.
