Respected sir/ madam my mother has bp and she is taking cilnidipine 5 mg tablet every day. We monitor her bp everyday with bp monitoring machine. I checked in some websites that normal range bp is systolic 90 to 120 and dialostic 60 to 80. Should she continue taking medicine if the bp readings are in between these values? Should she take medicine if systolic is less than 90 and dialostic is in-between 60 and 80? Should she take medicine if systolic is in between 90 and 120 and dialostic is less than 60? Thank you.

Your attention to your mother's health is admirable. It's important to note that while i'm a homeopath and a clinical psychologist, i'm not a conventional medical doctor. Therefore, decisions related to prescription medications, like the cilnidipine your mother is taking, should be made in consultation with her treating physician. That said, I can provide some general advice. Blood pressure medication is often prescribed to be taken regularly, regardless of daily fluctuations in readings, because its purpose is to maintain a healthy blood pressure range over the long term. If your mother's readings are consistently within the normal range while on the medication, it doesn't necessarily mean she should stop taking it; the medication may be the reason she is within that range. Similarly, if her readings occasionally dip below the normal range, it doesn't automatically mean the medication should be stopped. Any decision to adjust or discontinue a blood pressure medication should be done under a doctor's supervision, based on a review of her overall health and long-term blood pressure trends, not just a few readings. In the meantime, lifestyle modifications, including a healthy diet, regular exercise, stress management techniques, and homeopathic remedies, can support overall heart health and potentially contribute to better blood pressure control. Please consult with your mother's physician for any concerns regarding her medication. If you're interested in discussing potential lifestyle modifications or homeopathic support, feel free to arrange a consultation with me. Take care.
