My son got mild dengue positive and all reports are okay now with platelets 254 k. Only typhidot igm in today?s report came positive rest all parameters okay. Do you suggest to start any antibiotic at this stage or with few more days to keep a watch. No fever, or any other symptom seen like headache, loss of appetite etc. Pls suggest.

Dear lybrate-user, thanks for reaching out since your son's typhidot igm is positive you must get a professional opinion by physical / video consultation with me or any paediatrician at earliest and start antibiotics at recommend dosage and time. This is because if not treated properly now, he may develop severe complications in adulthood like ulcers in intestinal walls, obstruction of food passage, etc. Please don't take any such risk.
