I am suffering from androgenic alopecia. The doctor prescribed me to use minoxidil solution and oral finasteride. I am using this since nearly 1 yr. Some improvement also happened. But I would like to know upto what time I will use this medication or some other treatment will be taken up.

Hello! androgenic alopecia is a type of hair loss where hormone dht is responsible. At your crown area hair follicles have the receptors for this hormone so you need to apply the medication for life long to maintain your existing hair. Tablet finasteride can be switched to serum which comes in combination with minoxidil. If your hair fall becomes better then you can use it alternate days. Other treatments for maintenance is prp, mesotherapy, low level laser light. Have a protein rich diet. Include fruits and nuts in your diet. Protect your hair in harsh sunlight by wearing a cap. Avoid stress if any.
