Hello doctor, yesterday I went to the temple and a person in front of me sneezed at me and some droplets from his mouth entered into my eyes. I want to know is there any risk of hiv infection in this scenario. I don't know the status of that person. Should I go for pep? please guide me. M very much worried. Thnx.

Not to worry as there is no risk of having hiv infection from secretions of nose or mouth. Hiv spreads from blood and sexual intercourse.

Hiv is transmitted by blood transfusion, vaginal sex, childbirth, breastfeeding. It is not transmitted via sneezing.
