My vdrl test reactive but rpr test non reactive why? Vdrl test done in private lab and rpr test done in ictc center and tpha test also non reactive. Tpha test do in ictc center.

Vdrl test reactive may present in several biological false positive conditions. Tpha test and rpr test are more reliable. Biological false positivity warrants a repeat of syphilis serology. It should be repeated at 10 weeks ,by that time most cases will return to vdrl nonreactive. Conditions showing false positive vdrl = 1.viral infections 2.auto immune erythematous 3.sarcoidosis 4.rhematoid arthritis 5.pregnancy:in such case vdrl test should be repeated 4-6 weeks after delivery.
