Dear patient anal fissure is usually associated with constipation (due to straining & hard stool). You have to modify your dietary habits & daily routine to regulate your bowel movements. Firstly, have plenty of water & fibre rich diet; avoid red meat (if you are non-vegetarian). Secondly, for healing of fissure at anus, you have to do sitz bath with lukewarm water 3-4 times/day; followed by application of fidonal/cremagel-l cream at anal verge after every sitz bath. Thirdly, to make your stool smooth, you may need stool softener (syr. Cremaffin plus- 15 ml at night). Finally, it is always wise decision to physically attend a general surgeon or proctologist for clinical examination & assessment. Thank you.

Hello lybrate-user, please understand that anal fissures are known for recurrence and hence do not get frustrated once it recur. U can try another ointment. Escot or anorelief, to be applied with your finger inside the anus approx 5 cm, before going to pass stool. It will work better if you combine it with hot sitz bath..
