Dear lybrate-user, schizoaffective disorder needs these kind of medicines for a long term. No medicine is safe in the long run. Your psychiatrist knows about the long term side effects of these drugs. She/he will be assessing those side effects with the benefits you got. Please discuss with her/him without stopping these tablets.

Present medications are newer generation antipsychotics they are relatively safe but any medication may show side effect on long term use. Further usage of medication depends up on the condition and assessing the risk benefit ratio.
