Dear sir/madam am talking amisulpride 200 (0-0-1) and zeedon 2 mg (risperidone) 0-0-1 for more than 6 years. There has been no episode in between these years. There is no symptoms or irrational thoughts. I am branch manager in a bank. I do all the work and feel better. Should I talk to my doctor to reduce dosage now, if there is no symptoms for six years, does it render essentially of decreased dosages or eventually end it? Would I be able to abandon drugs. How many years medication prolongs in such cases. Kindly guide.

Dear Rahul, Yes please, talk to your doctor about reducing the dose. Eventually ending the tablets - depends on other factors like diagnosis, work pressure, side effects, the effectiveness of reduced dose, family and social supports, etc. A few persons have to continue life long. A few are maintained on minimal dose. A few stop and relapse. A few stop and okay. Let us keep the fingers crossed.

The dose should be gradually reduced and not abruptly, you can discuss with your doctor and try the same, definetly. Good luck
