If you do not have hypothyroidism, then properly planned diet and regular exercise of more than 1 hour or preferably joining a gym and doing a workout under the guidance of a professional trainer is going to be more beneficial. In the diet you should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, sweetened aerated drinks, junk foods, pastries, other bakery items, red meat, high fat milk products, fructose corn syrup containing products & highly processed food products. Also refrain from alcohol and smoking completely. You might increase protein food intake daily, by taking 2 to 3 eggs. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, use whole grain products and whole grain flour for chapati and roti. Avoid all products made of refined flour like maida.
