I am taking pantakind tab on alternative days for acidity. Is it safe to continue.

This is a proton pump inhibitor drug stopping even normal acid secretion which is essential for hydrolysis and partial digestion of proteins in the stomach. If the acid becomes less than required, your food remains unhydrolyzed and stays longer in the stomach without moving forward. On the contrary overstay of such undigested food and muscle contractions attempting to push it ahead may cause some of it to regurge back in the esophagus giving heartburn despite taking these tablets. So use any medicine if it is prescribed by a qualified physician only.
