Dear lybrate user, for the fever you could take a tablet of paracetamol 500 mg 3 times a day after meals. For the sore throat and cold, do warm salt water gargles 3-4 times a day, you could also take some benadryl for relief of dry cough, do steam inhalation 3-4 times a day (10 min session each). You may also take some over the counter decongestant tablets for cold but remember not to take the above mentioned paracetamol then as these preparations usually contain paracetamol. In case you do not feel better in another 2 days please seek doctor for specific treatment. Get well soon!

Gargling with warm salt water is an effective way to treat a sore throat. Salt can even help kill the bacteria or virus causing pharyngitis. 1. Mix three teaspoons of salt (preferably sea salt) in two cups of warm water. 2. Gargle with this solution. Do not swallow it. Spit the water out after gargling. 3. Do this several times daily for one to two days. Consult me for homeopathic treatment. Recommend me by clicking on recommend option and leave feedback.
