I'm 25 years old, I was diagnosed with schizophrenia 5 years back ,since then i'm on allopathic medication (on &off, d/t decrease in their effect and lots of side effects, I 'm thinking about the ayurvedic t/t.can I start it.

Dear lybrate-user, There is no treatment of schizophrenia in Ayurvedic medicine as per my knowledge. There are new medicine in allopathic medicine for schizophrenia with less side effect. There are medicine available to deal with side effect also. Kindly consult psychiatrist and take medicine regularly. Studies indicated that patients who take medicine irregularly, they land up taking more medicine once there symptoms exaggerate compared to those who take medicine regularly. All d best!
