I am 29 years and had paralatic attack on 26 oct 14 due to blockage in my heart valves. My right hand and leg is not working properly. My two heart valves were replaced in the surgery on 31 march 15. I can walk slowly and can move my hand slowly. How much time it will take to recover?

Dear. I am Dr. Alok sinha. I understand your concern. Paralysis occur due to hampered blood supply to brain. In you case the heart could not pump enough blood to all parts of brain, resulting in death of some brain cells (strokestroke) and paralysis. Gradually over a period of time the brain recovers andand remaining healthy brain cells take over the function of controlling that body part. But this process take many months. It is good that you are recovering well. Take care of your heart by regular check ups and lipid lowering agents. Do exercise daily. Soon you will feel the difference. I wish you all the best.
