My sister aged 32 is under high BP 160/100 and she is pregnant 7 months completed. Doctors have tried many medicines but bp is not under control so they have asked for tablet Alpha dopa 500 mg to be given. But I searched all around not available. Kindly advise.

It is best to ask her Doctor for an alternative to the medication. BP increases under anxiety, when diet is not correct, when person does not get proper rest and sleep. So make sure your sister takes care about these factors. Food that will help her include coconut water, even daily. Fresh fruits that include pomegranate, pears, few grapes, ripe banana, melons and daily few almonds, walnut and green tea. These will help baby also. Best wishes.
