Dear lybrate-user, Bipolar disorder runs in families. If you have your close blood relatives with bipolar disorder, you can take preventive measures. Otherwise every anxiety will not be bipolar disorder. However start writing mood chart (download from net or contact me on private consultation) DAILY early morning mood. It has a row for anxiety and a row for irritability also. Hours of sleep also will be recorded. After 3 months consult a psychiatrist with mood chart so that you know whether you have a risk of bipolar disorder. Prevention will be planned depending upon your risk factors.
