My mother is 45 now. Her uric acid has increased and it became 5.05.will it be harmful??which food and vegetable she have to avoid???suggest please.

Mr. lybrate-user, Uric acid level up to 7 mg/ 100 ml is normal. So there is no reason to worry. Many of us may be having higher levels (>7 mg / 100 ml), but only in few does it lead to any symptoms. To maintain normal levels, one should avoid red meat, organ meat, sea foods, alcohol and sweetened aerated drinks. Eggs, milk products, dressed chicken are good enough. Thanks.

5.05 is within normal range In hyperuric patients... Avoid high protein diet like sprouted cereals, non veg food, etc
