Dear lybrate-user, As far as the peri-operative period goes then you should avoid heavy exercises of the pectorals and chest muscles for about 6-8 weeks. After that you can carry out any physical activity without worrying about the impact it would have on the chest. You can definitely play football actively or any other sport for that matter after about 4 weeks. Only the sports and exercises with heavy chest muscle involvement like swimming etc and bench press and the likes will have to wait for about 6-8 weeks.
