No there are no side effects provided it has been documented you have vitamin-D deficiency before the start of therapy. There is no benefit of taking vitamin-D in people who have sufficient levels in the blood. Benefit is seen in only those individuals who have vitamin -D deficiency or insufficiency (25-hydroxy vitamin-D<30n/ml). Vitamin-D levels in the blood >150 ng/ml is considered to be toxic and should be avoided. Desired range for vitamin-D in the blood is 30-100 ng/ml.
