Hi Fasting blood sugar is taken after 7 to 8 hrs of fasting from the previous night. Normal value is 80 to 120 mg/dl. Random blood sugar is taken at any time irrespective of the last food intake. Normal value is less than 180 mg /dl.

Namaste Madam, No, The Random sugar test, tests done through a home Glucometer, are not the same as lab FBS. The biochemical process and principle applicable for each vary. However, each of the test has its importance in properly indicating the glycaemic control achieved by the patient.
