Dear lybrate-user, Your wife had other medical problems apart from Schizophrenia. She is on medications for Schizophrenia also. All medicines have side effects on other systems of the body. One has to weigh the benefit vs side effect. Your doctor who has been treating her is the best person to assess all these. Lurasidone being a recent medicine may have better bet now. But it is only expected - may not be in your wife since the psychiatrists don't have much personal experience- because it is a new tablet. However you need to consult a physician also side by side. These symptoms may be due to thyroid imbalance. I don't know your wife's age. May be she is menopausal needing hormonal change.
