Dear sir, My serum uric acid level is 7.9 mg/dl. I suffer gout in my leg finger toes. Is this harmful? How should control this?

Mr. lybrate-user, Gout occurs because of deposition of uric acid crystals in and around the joint space. So there are drugs given which help excrete uric acid plus NSAIDs to control acute pain and inflammation. As a precaution following food s should be avoided: red meat, organ meat, certain sea foods like scallops, sardines, salmon, haddock, herring, mushrooms. Mussels and alcohol and sweetened aerated drinks. Thanks.
