Hello Sir, I am 23 years old. About 3 days ago I had went in a wedding ceremony where I had a meal. One day later I also ate in a restaurant. However my erection was not clear and I suffered a gastric problem. I took some normal medicines but they didn't help much. Last night when I was about to sleep I suddenly felt a jerk from my chest. It went went up to the left armpit and also extended up to the left arm. The pain lasted for one minute then when I turned left it shifted back and then to the left chest and left hand and finally disappeared. I was feeling very weak. My head was felling little dizzy. I doubt whether it is a gastric pain or an angina attack. At present I can feel gastric problems in my stomach but what was the cause of the chest pain? Sometimes sharp pin pointing light pains are still being felt in the chest, armpit regions, neck, throat. I have checked my pulse rate and pressure they are normal. I have consulted a doctor but he is saying it is a gastric trouble. Please tell me what tests should I conduct to verify whether it is a cardiac problem or not?

Dear lybrate-user, Lie your doctor has suggested, it is mostly a very bad case of indigestion. Heart burn is the name of this typical symptom when acid surges and gas burn the chest radiating as if it was heart problem. Before you take any investigations, take a strong purgative and stick to a healthy, fresh, fruity nutritious meals for few days. Drink at-least 7 glasses of hot water. This should help you. After 10 days, if you still do not feel well, take an ECG and 2D echo test to evaluate heart health. Regards.
