Lying in bed while you turn on your left side while lying increases blood circulation to foetus. Baby derives all nutrition from the mothers blood. You should rest at least two hours in the afternoon in addition to regular night sleep in the second half of your pregnancy.

It is absolutely false statement. Lying down has no relationship with the amount of nutrition of the baby. If there are no complications associated with pregnancy, then we advise the lady to work as she used to in her non-pregnant state. However, she is advised to take 2 hours of rest in the afternoon and 8 hours of rest at night.( which is not possible for a working woman).
