Hello Sir, How long it takes to go alcohol withdrawal symptoms without medicine. As I am chronic alcoholic I have to quit sudden since I got to know I have liver cirrhosis I am being treated for 4 months now my liver is in stable condition. Due to liver disease I can not take other medicine except for liver disease Doctor told me you have to come out own your own I do my best but face problems like heavy head blurred vision dizziness problem in light fell my mind is numbness think what to do Mood swing fear of dying restlessness Made me week physically as well mentally Please suggest me Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, Alcohol withdrawal symptoms starts within 6-8 hours of stopping alcohol. They can be treated effectively with calmpose kind of tablets and vitamins, if it is not complicated. Complicated withdrawal needs further treatment. Usually withdrawal is not more than 10-14 days. But you seem to be having depressive disorder in addition to alcohol withdrawal. Both should be treated simultaneously. Nice to know that your liver is stabilising. Even after knowing it, if you are depressed and afraid of dying, please consult a psychiatrist or ask your doctor to take a psychiatrist's opinion.
