Dear lybrate-user, thanks for reaching out. After thoroughly reading his usg report & the fact that he has diabetes my advice to you is: 1. The doctor's are right to have him undergo operation because if the stones are not removed right away they may further block the bile duct which will lead to jaundice or may go to intestines which can complicate into swelling of whole abdomen with pain vomiting and constipation. May be the doctors will do the operation after the pain and fever decreases or right away depending on the patient condition. 2. Since his blood sugar levels are higher than normal so there in increase in the risk of having infections more than normal person with calculus cholecystitis. 3. Please don't worry about the complications/ cost of the operation because ultimately healthy life is most precious than anything else. Take care.
