Dear Nawal, It is really sad to see your father dementing. Please let me know the type of dementia CMC or RINPAS diagnosed him. He is too young to get Alzheimer's type of dementia. If we investigate 10 persons, only one of them will have a treatable cause. Unfortunately it looks your father did not have a treatable cause. So we may not be able to bring him back to his original self. But there are few cholinesterase inhibitor kind of drugs available. They at least stop further deterioration of dementia. The care takers need counselling to prevent burn out. Few day care and in house care help them to preserve whatever brain function that are not lost. Please don't spend much money and time in taking him to place to place. Instead spend that money for the care taker or rehabilitation places.
