Whether Rabies Immunoglobulin was indicated / advised? If 'Yes' whether given? This will throw light how serious was incident of bite. Normally it is expected first 3 doses are taken on exact day as mentioned. The last two can be delayed by few days. Now that you have missed 3rd dose due on 13th is taken on 17th July , your 4 th dose is rescheduled on 24th July and 5th Dose on 7th August. Delay of just few days can be ignored. Long delay may make vaccine ineffective. However discuss with your doctor who is well aware of your proper history.

Contact of saliva of animal with broken skin is a high risk factor. If wound is active bleeding then you should get rabies vaccine + immunoglobulin.+ tetanus vaccine as well if not vaccinated in last 10 years. If wound is not actively bleeding or you were previously vaccinated for rabies with full course, you only need 2 booster doses and no immunoglobulin.

Aap already rabies prophylaxis le chuke hain- toh agar apko abhi bite hua (ya future mein ho)- 2 scenarios: first ki it was superficial scratch and deep skin cut nahi hua- just clean the wound with water and antiseptic. Keep it clean and dry. Second scenario- deep skin cut hain (severe bite) - toh apko re-exposure prohylaxis lena hoga- 2 intramuscular injections, on day 0 and 3. No need to take rabies immunoglobulins. Also you should get tetanus shot agar apne last 5 years mein tetanus ka injection nahi lagwaya hain toh. You can consult me for further inquiries.

Hi first of all we need to was the wound thoroughly with soap and water. We also need to know which category of bite according to your history if no oozing of blood was there then it is category 2 it needs full vaccination 0 dose 3rd day n 7th day but you can discontinue the 14th day dose if the cat/dog is ok and shows no sign of abnormality after 10 days but itâs always better to take complete course when it is street dog or wild cat and not the vaccinated pet you need to take 0,3,7,14,28 doses and inj tt and if there was oozing then one dose of immunoglobulin within 24 hrs.
