See one thing we don't know generally is, it is not like we see in movies that a single time unprotected sexual intercourse in fertile period of woman makes her pregnant, actually scientifically whole human race have only 20-25% fertility chances to get pregnancy even if both partners are completely normal & had sex every single day of the fertile period. So ideally it is advisable to wait & keep try for 1 year, only after that you should consult about infertility. Even though, meanwhile you can rule out major causes of infertility after 4-6 months like semen analysis of male partner at your convenient pathological lab & sonography of female partner for any anatomical deformity of uterus, pcod or others & also do blood test of female partner like tsh, cbc, urine routine micro, rbs to be sure. Also you should know when to have sex: considering 28 days of average menses cycle with day 1 as first day of last menses period, normally 10th day to 20th day are considered fertile period, every alternate day sex between 10th day to 20th day of cycle is ideal to get pregnancy.
