Asked for female, 46 years old from Delhi

Hi, I am currently 46 years old and have suffered from macular amyloidosis since I was a teenager. For many years it was a manageable but after the birth of my daughter 5.5 years ago the condition is definitely worse and has now spread to my face and also the itchiness has also become worse. I am also nervous that my daughter will probably inherit the problem as I did from my father. I was wondering if you have treatment that will resolve this issue for me and 2. If there is anything that can be done to prevent my daughter from getting it? I would really appreciate some help. Thanks for your time and help. Best regards, anushree.

Hi Doctor. I am patient suffering from Macular amyloidosis. It's been I guess 8 years that I have dark patches on my arms but I always thought it's because of tanning. Few months back only I got to know about this disease when I met dermatologist. But he gave me ointments to apply on my arms which are basically for pigmentation. I have applied those ointments but that did not show much result on my skin. Could you please help in knowing weather macular amyloidosis is curable or not. Adenomyosis needs surgery if all other medications fail to perform and you are in excessive pain. Removal of ovaries might not be a possible treatment to cure adenomyosis. In such a case, removal of the uterus is the only option left with your doctor.

there are two options for adenomyosis treatment ,if family complete you can go for hysterectomy.if you want to conserve your uterus then go for mirena insertion.
for initial 2-3 months afyer mirena insertion you may have intermenstrual spotting and cramps .but after that periods will get regularized and BLEEDING will reduce significantly
