If you are carrying a recesive gene of a and your husband too has a recessive gene of a, there is a possibility of baby getting 2 recessive genes to make it 1 dominant gene of a to get blood group of a positive. Get a genetic profile done for both of you or ask the extended family of both sides about their blood groups, otherwise keep living with doubtful guilty feelings of babies being changed in hospital.

Yes it is definitely a possibility. But the mother needs to be very careful in a second pregnancy. Without anti-d antibody vaccine, there is a risk of harm to the second child.

HI,
Same blood group (both positive or negative) does not give rise to any problem. But if the wife's group is negative and the husband's group is positive, then there are chances of incompatibility in the child's blood.

Although its highly unlikely but inheritance of the abo blood group system is more complicated than just having one gene with three alleles. If we consider effective mutations but again highly unlikely.

Yes, there are four main blood groups (types of blood): a, b, ab and o. Your blood group is determined by the genes you inherit from your parents. Each group can be either rhd positive or rhd negative, which means your blood group can be one of the eight types shown below (see the rh system).
