The treatment of mouth cancer depends on the site and Stage of the cancer. I usually ask for an imaging CT scan or MRI, sometimes only ultrasound) to know the extent of the disease and nodal spread. If advanced stage, then I also ask for a PET CT scan. If early stage, then surgery. If advanced, may need surgery followed by chemoradiation or chemotherapy followed by surgery and Chemoradiation.
