Eswl as very limited indication these days as most of stones can be completely removed with endoscopic surgery. Recurrence rates and relapse rates are high with eswl treatment.

Any stone less than 7-8 mm and not causing obstruction need no intervention or medicne, just drink lot of fluids.

The symptomatic stones definitely need treatment. The standard treatment for stones in the Hall bladder is surgery. Minimal Invasive Surgery like Lap chole or laparoscopic surgery is the recommended procedure these days. ESWL is not useful for Gall bladder stones. (out of many reasons let me tell you why it is so.
