Hair Bonding: Treatment, Procedure, Cost and Side Effects

Last Updated: Nov 20, 2024

What is the treatment?

Hair bonding is a painless and quick way to increase the length of your hair. If you are unhappy with the length of your hair, compatible hair extensions can be added to your existing hair through this non surgical procedure. It can also work as a solution for hair loss conditions. Hair bonding is a comparatively low cost remedy than hair replacement surgery. This non surgical process can also be conducted in hair thinning conditions.

How is the treatment done?

Hair bonding is the perfect process for both men and women in need for an immediate hair loss solution. Soft silicon glue is used accurately on the affected areas of your scalp to fix the synthetic hair system. Then, it is merged well with the already existing hair strands. You may choose the kind of hair you want according to your budget and the texture of your existing hair. Cost of hair bonding process is lesser than any other hair loss treatment. Make sure that you visit an experienced hair technician or doctor so that you get the best advice about what kind of synthetic hair should be added to your existing hair.

Who is eligible for the treatment? (When is the treatment done?)

If you have semi permanent hair loss condition or want to increase the length of your existing hair, you may go for hair bonding procedure.

Who is not eligible for the treatment?

Make an appointment with your hair technician or doctor prior the hair bonding session, to ensure that you are not allergic to any of the products being used during the procedure.

Are there any side effects?

Hair bonding done with the use of glue and adhesive may damage your hair in the long run. It may make your hair dry, dull and frizzy. All these effects can be avoided if you take good care and use prescribed hair products.

What are the post-treatment guidelines?

There are specialised hair products available in the market to be used on bonded hair. You must use the shampoo, conditioner, hair gel and serum as suggested by your hair technician or doctor. Visit your hair bonding centre every month to keep a check on the condition of your new hair.

How long does it take to recover?

Hair bonding process can be done in one session that is a few hours long. The results will immediately show. You may get back to your routine activities from the very next day while following all the instructions provided by the doctor.

What is the price of the treatment in India?

Hair bonding may cost between ₹40000 - ₹ 90000 depending on the severity of your condition along with the cost of every follow up session.

Are the results of the treatment permanent?

The results of the treatment are not permanent. You will have to repeat the process of bonding your hair from time to time.

What are the alternatives to the treatment?

Rubbing your scalp with onion juice, ginger juice and garlic juice is said to improve baldness condition. You can try hot oil treatments or massaging with egg oil. However, these treatments do not guarantee hair growth or decrease in baldness.
