It is a progressive muscular weakness disease. It occurs in boys because of lack of one protein gene. With time condition deteriorates. It requires rehabilitation exercises to maintain.

There is no specific curative therapy for knee degenrative changes escept hot fomentation, analgesia and avoidance of excessive knee bending and maintaining a healthy body weight.
