It depends on how much tissue is present on the labia to be reduced during the surgery. If there is heavy amount of tissue before a labiaplasty, then your sexual partner will definitely feel the difference. Your sexual partner can also feel the difference in its shape and size once the labiaplasty is performed.

Some scars will be visible on the body due to incision after any surgery. But things are different in case of labia scarring as these are very minimally visible due to tiny incisions during the labiaplasty procedure. Meanwhile, if there is pain in the scars after the surgery, it will go over a period of time and may take three to six months for complete recovery.

Labiaplasty is considered as a minor surgery but it does involve cutting into the labia minora. Your surgeon will use local anesthesia but a little pain and swelling will be involved following the procedure. Meanwhile, your surgeon will prescribe you medication to lower down the post-operative symptoms including bruisiness and swelling.

Labiaplasty comes with few risks such as soreness, bruising and swelling for up to 2 weeks. Your routine life may become difficult as you may feel a little uncomfortable while peeing and sitting. Other risks involved are bleeding, infection, scarring of tissue and reduced sensitivity of the genitals. Allergies to anesthesia and blood clots are common risks of surgeries.

The vagina is composed of labia majora, labia minora and the clitoral head. In labiaplasty, the appearance of the external genitalia, specifically the labia minora are altered. The labia minora are the flaps of skin on either side of the vagina. With age and/or pregnancy, these can become dark, can sag or can enlarge over a period of time. While some women simply are bothered by the aesthetic appearance of it, others might have discomfort as a result of this.
