Histiocytosis does need treatment with steroids. But that usually doesn't have to be this long. And you are right. Steroids do have their own side effects. In this situation, it is important to know what type of histiocytosis she was suffering from, what was the initial therapy and what was the response assessment. Do get in touch with a hematologist and he/she will be able to guide you through. Thanks though for asking, for it is high time that she gets off the steroids.

If the chalazion doesn't go away, you should seek help from an eye specialist. The chalazion may need to have the fluid drained through a small incision. You may also need an injection of steroids to reduce swelling and inflammation.

Hi Lybrate user,
it is normal if you notice some swelling or bruising around eye after chalazion removal surgery.
And some discharge is also there.
You can use cold compress on eye to reduce swelling.
And avoid # rubbing eyes # touching eyes
# getting water in your eyes when showering # wearing eye makeup.
All these symptoms can be very well managed by appropriate homeopathy medicines.

Hi. Unfortunately there is no cure for rp as on now. All the medications or inventions are just aimed at improving the already diminished vision or improving the quality of life. For you per se genetic testing isnât much useful now that you already have the disease.
