Dear Wasim,
Temporo Frontal dementia is not a fatal disorder. They can live just like any other normal aging persons. Death occurs because of age, medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, smoking, intercurrent infections, falls and accidents.
No specific treatment to reverse the process of dementia. But care can be given for few symptoms, caretakers health can be taken care, help like day care, dementia old age homes, home nursing aid, etc can be arranged.

Dear Rajiv,
It is in our culture, to keep the elderly persons at home and care for them till the end. This person needs nursing care also which your family members alone can not do. So, it is better to keep her at home and keep a part time or full time nursing assistant, hired from some voluntary agency. If your house is, not that convenient or if you have other commitments, you have to shift her to a nursing home after counselling all relevant relatives.

Dear Ashok,
i can understand the problem of living with a mother who is dementing. Dementia causes sleep problems. A person with dementia may sleep during the day and not at night. But giving sleeping tablets cause problems of falls. Any fall can cause fracture of hip joint at postmenopausal age. So it is better to avoid sedatives.

It is really sad to see your father dementing. Please let me know the type of dementia CMC or RINPAS diagnosed him. He is too young to get Alzheimer's type of dementia.
If we investigate 10 persons, only one of them will have a treatable cause. Unfortunately it looks your father did not have a treatable cause. So we may not be able to bring him back to his original self. But there are few cholinesterase inhibitor kind of drugs available. They at least stop further deteriorati...more

Due to sudden jerk she might got nerves compressed, need to go for act scan of cervical spine to ruke out any internal compression or injury of soft tissues or nerves.
Application of hot or ice pack will be helpfull to try at home for a day if no improvement then go for ct scan and follow back with reports for proper treatment.
