There are good medicines that can control lichen planus. Before prescribing, would like to know the duration of disease, sites affected, treatments taken and photographs of affected site.

The treatment of lichen planus needs to managed on patient to patient basis. The treatment of lichen planus depends on multiple factors like- severity of disease, progressive or not, involvement of oral cavity, nail or scalp. Again, response to treatment varies from person to person, according to which the treatment can be adjusted or stepped up. If the creams are not working, discuss the possibility of adding oral medications with the treating dermatologist.

Good evening. Lichen planus is quite an itchy and stubborn. Topical corticosteroids are the 1st choice especially when lesions are few in number. If still actively persistent or worsening, stronger creams/ointments may be tried along with tablets/capsules to control the disease activity. Even if lichen planus is controlled, it tends to leave behind marks which are very persistent and difficult to treat.

Lichen planus usually goes away on its own. If symptoms are bothersome, topical creams and oral antihistamines may help.

Hi, There is definitely a cure in Ayurveda for it. We have successfully treated several such cases. It is an intense therapy course of panchakarma, followed by medication for 2 to 3 months.
