Mirena is contraception that can be inserted into the uterus for long term use. This insertion is done with a proper clinical procedure. The Mirena is a device that may be classified as a hormonal Intrauterine device (IUD). This device releases a kind of progestin, which prevents the sperm from travelling to the egg to fertilise it. This hormone basically makes the cervical mucus thick and makes the uterine lining thin, so that ovulation gets suppressed.

Hello.
Mirena is a hormonal (progestin) iud. Some breast cancers are hormone sensitive and hence mirena is not advised for patients suffering from or at risk of developing breast cancer. However, there is no definite evidence at present that mirena increases the risk of breast cancers, although it is suggested to decrease risk of endometrial cancer.
If you are still concerned, you may opt for a non-hormonal iud. Pls discuss with your doctor regarding differences in efficacy of the two.more

Hi, the bitter taste and gas are most likely due to the antibiotics that you are taking after your D and C. You can stop the antibiotics. It is a minor procedure so you can go back to work now if you are feeling well enough.

Cost depends on centre to centre and varies from 5-10 thousand. The whole procedure doesn't take more than 15-20 minutes. It's an outpatient procedure and doesn't require any anesthesia.

For the pain, you need to take some medicines. It will go away with menopause but yours may be several years still. The pain can be awful. Discharge means an element of infection is also present. You can contact me for details and advice.
