I have seen the details mentioned. Please understand hashimoto's thyroiditis (ht) is an autoimmune phenomenon, that causes hypothyroidism. There is no medication to cure or remove it. In majority of hypothyroidism patients the cause is ht. In any form of hypothyroidism only treatment is to take adequate dosage of levothyroxine and maintain tsh with in the specified range as well as t4 in the normal range. Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. Madam, when one is on adequate dosage of levothyroxine then tsh is maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l, t3 & t4 are in normal range. That is considered as controlled hypothyroidism. Another aspect is please do not keep changing the dosage rapidly. It take about 6 weeks to see appropriate change in tsh levels. Madam, I am sure you are aware that during the 9 moths of gestation period tsh has to be maintained in the following manner: 1)1st trimester tsh 0.1 to 2.5 mu/l, 2) 2nd trimester 0.2 to 3.0 mu/l & 3) 3rd trimester 0.3 to 3.0 mu/l. Plus it is necessary to check thyroid profile during that 9 moth period once every 4 weeks. If you had followed those guide lines probably such a situation would not have been faced usually in a hypothyroid patient with pregnancy settin...more
