Hello. Lybrate user. After cleft lip and palate surgery, there are procedures like speak therapy to guide speaking normally. It will gradually get normal. Cleft palate is a genetic condition and developmental disorder. It is not compulsory to affect the unborn child. I advice you to consult a general physician regarding, cleft lip of mom and child. Please consult an entire doctor and get treatment if it is chronic. Have audiometry test done to know his type of hearing loss. If hes having regular ear discharge surgically closing the hole is must.
