Asked for Male, 35 years old from Navi Mumbai

My dad has a tumor in the upper and mid pole of the right kidney measuring 14 6.910.5 CMS as per latest USG. 2. Likewise prostrate is also enlarged at 5 CMS. 3. The Impressions mentioned in the report include Mild Hepatocellular splenomegaly, small cyst measuring 1.7 CMS in the left lobe of liver, mass lesion in the right kidney, enlarged prostate. 4.The latest chest ray states, well defined rounded opacities in right mid zone and bilateral lower zone with a possibility of lungs metastasis. 5. He has lost 10 kgs in the last 1 year. 6. His left and right foot especially appear to be swelling now. Not sure why. 7. He wakes up 6-7 times at night to pass urine and as a result has a disturbed sleep. 8.He has been constantly having cough and pain along the lower back and spinal cord. If surgery needs to be done, how critical would that be? Life threats now versus Post surgery? Can surgery be avoided? Any effective oral medication?

Appears kidney cancer with spread to lung. PET/CT scan will show all the body parts affected with it, so that it can be analysed and managed better. Surgery is not required when there is already metastasis (spread). Oral medications are available to keep a control over the growth of tumor so that life can be extended. He would need a CT thorax to confirm the size and number of metastasis. Also a bone scan would be advisable if bone pain or raised alkaline phosphate level in blood. PET CT scan can be done instead of both the above investigations. MRI brain if symptomatic.

lovely report. Congratulations.
Hopefully a partial Nephrectomy has been done saving the rest of the kidney.
This report suggests you have a low risk less aggressive tumor although Lymphovascular invasion may signify some nodal Mets.
Just keep a good follow up every 6 months with USG abdo pelvis for the next 3 years

I have 1.5cm hypodense mass lesion in the left kidney. Appearing echogenic on ultrasound with no CT demonstrable fat attenuation within? Renal cell carcinoma? Angiomyolipoma. Then I take biopsy Biopsy result as A1 to A3 renal cortical tissue A4 sections reveal a tumour composed of papillae lined by a single layer of small cells with scant cytoplasm with mild nuclear pleomorphism. The papillae have delicate fibrovascular core Foam cell clusters are seen in an occasional area finally result concludes as papillary neoplasm of kidney pls explain what problem I have sir I am now afraid of cancer.

Get your liver function test / hemogram test/ stool routine and typhoid dot test done, it can be anything from simple food poisoning to typhoid to viral jaundice, but it can't be cancer as cancer doesn't spread like that from one person to another, if your liver function is abnormal you do further viral test like b virus c virus as these are dangerous if not treated you can have a private consult in Lybrate.

It seems like you are an otherwise healthy person, a man who is 6 ft tall and 75 kgs. Your current wbc count is normal and you are on treatment for imatinib. With regards to your prognosis of cml your oncologist should have told you about how things might turn out for you. Most blood cancers are curable, however it is best to speak with your oncologist regarding your condition or get a second opinion.

My mother 65 years of age is suffering from ild (idiopathic pulmonary fibroses) from last 4 years. She has been taking allopathic medication from last 4 years for this issue. Her breathing issue is increasing day by day. Now she is using oxygen concentrator for about 20 hours a day. Latest test reports shows her lungs are now on 20-25% working condition. She got shortness of breath even if she walk for 10 to 15 steps only. She can't do any physical activity due to this breathing issue. Kindly do let me know if this issue can be treated and her health can be improved as everyone says that it can't be cured or reversed.
