There are allopathic medications which act in tobacco craving and significant people are able to overcome and come out of the habit. Consult an astute psychiatrist for the same. Good luck

Dear lybrate-user, thanks for reaching out. If you want to quit heavy smoking habit, please visit a professional counsellor as only medicines won't be able to help overcome the habit. Take care.

Dear Saikat,
The doctor might have diagnosed a mood disorder in addition to your nicotine dependance. Unless the mood is stabilised, you may not be able to quit smoking. It may not reduce craving - but it will keep your motivation to quit high continuously for more than 3 months. You yourself will learn how to observe the craving going down without smoking.

There are other options also available to quit smoking addiction. It requires time to get rid of it's urge. Text consult me for the same. If you have any family or friends support that would be a plus point in treatment.
